Jesus Wept

A long time ago, in the town of Bethany

A true story occurred and changed the lives of many

Lazarus, a friend of Jesus’ and the brother of Mary and Martha

Was sick and facing death as a serious matter

They sent an urgent message to Jesus but He tarried

When Jesus eventually showed up, for four days, Lazarus had been buried

Upon seeing Him, Martha said “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died”

To that Jesus responded, “Your brother will rise again”

Afterwards, even her sister who once anointed the Lord with the fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair

Came crying because of the time Jesus arrived there

Jesus knew Lazarus’ death can’t be denied

But He chose to bring him back to life and ease everyone’s pain

Before the miracle, however, people cried and alone, in an erroneous manner, wished to be left

Feeling sorry for their unbelief, Jesus wept

Coming to the tomb, Jesus asked them to take away the stone

It was time for Lazarus to leave the world of the dead alone

Here, Jesus asked Martha a timeless question

“Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

While everyone was still wondering, Jesus lifted His eyes and said

“Father, I thank You that You have heard Me

And I know that You always hear Me

But because of the people who are standing by

I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me”

Then Jesus shouted with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”

And to the glory of God, indeed, Lazarus came out

So, Jesus said to them, “free him of the burial wrappings and let him go”

ARE YOU READY TO WATCH YOUR HOPELESSNESS BECOME HAPPINESS?
